Tom DeLonge – Standing by His Faith in God

http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/oo141/weezieweezie23/blog/15.jpg

In a messed up world such as Hollywood, it is difficult to find a band that stand firm in their belief as Christians. It is good to know that there are still some artists who are actually very much out in the open about their faith. One such artist is Tom DeLonge Angels and Airwaves frontman and Blink 182’s famous guitarist/vocalist.

Reading Tom DeLonge bio would make you understand his strong hold of his Christian faith. Tom belongs to a very Christian family and he believes in using his talent for music to influence people in a positive way. Instead of emulating the lecherous rockstar lifestyle which includes drinking alcohol and taking drugs, Tom has focused his energy to making meaningful music. He quit smoking and other vices to live a better lifestyle for his family and his passion for music.

It is always nice to read about musicians like Tom DeLonge. He is one of those who serve as an inspiration to Christians all over the world to stand by their faith no matter what. Amidst the pressures of society and media surrounding him, Tom has lived his life the way a true Christian would. It just proves that faith would keep you grounded and aligned on what your true purpose in life.

Let us allow our faith to shine through despite all the trials and temptations around us. Let us keep our priorities right and clean up our act to achieve our true mission here on Earth. Just like Tom DeLonge, may we all become beacons of our faith.

    1. Tom is a Christian. Blink-182 may have been back before he knew God but since Box Car Racer to Angels and Airwaves to the newest blink-182 album I know he has been a Christian you should probably hear letters to god parts 1 and 2 and the full love album by angels and airwaves (explores god love and hope)

    2. Tom is a believer, a family man, and an honest business man. He's always put his family first and remained committed to to the woman who would become his wife since he was in his late teenage years. I think Blink-182 has a very positive influence on young people: sure they have fun with dick jokes and can be down-right crude, but it's all there to shake things up so that people feel an instant connection. Who WOULDN'T feel better about life in general after listening to Blink?

  4. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works
    James 2:18

  5. What nonsense, Tom was my favorite member of blink till he went back to his parents brainwashing. Both travis and mark grew up in christian households and they freed themselves from the slavery of christ.

    2/3 aint bad....

  6. ...really james, why do you come on these websites and bash it? dont you have something better to do? and to everything else, everyone makes mistakes, and Tom's life is none of our buisiness. For all we know he could be a extremely hardcore christian. We should stop putting famous people on a pedistal, they are just normal people, that use their talents in an open way. Ya Tom prolly isnt perfect but you know. thats between him and God. Your making this webite like gossip central. just worry about your own walk with god, dont worry about other peoples. im sure Tom knows what he does and did is bad so let him work it out himself, along with other random hollywood stars.

  7. Anyone who believes that Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we may get to heaven, is a christian. It doesnt matter what their life style is. If they believe, they are Christians. The bible says "For whoever believes in HIM WILL have eternal life". It does not say "whoever believes in him AND does this this and this will have eternal life" just "believe".

  8. Jordan: You are correct. Faith is to be shown through actions. But just as importantly, we are not to judge others. Who are we to judge Tom Delonge for his faults? If we would like to be forgiven by our Heavenly Father, then we need to forgive him of his faults and not leading a perfect Christian life, because I'm sure as hell not. I've done the drugs and the alcohol and the swearing and such, and I know Tom's done a lot of crap he shouldn't have just like you and I. What his actions consist of are between him and God. Jesus said that there are three important things, faith, hope, and love, most importantly is love. To be honest, I feel like Tom is doing an AMAZING job of supporting these things and I know he's freaking helped me through the tough times. Now I'm trying to avoid judgement with this post, and I'll say I have no idea about your past and your faults, and I certainly have no authority to judge you. I would just like to recommend giving Tom some credit and taking it for what it's worth, regardless of his faith.

  9. the thing we are forgetting is he DID stop blink a few years back because he wanted to make more meaningful music. Angels an Airwaves is a testimony to that.

  10. Tom is the kind of believer I actually appreciate in this world, not some goodie goodie wanna be, but just a pretty cool guy trying to make heavenly and inspiring rock tones. I think God has blessed Tom.

    1. Amen, Jake. Christians aren't all Kirk Cameron cheese balls. Tom is a talented musician, and a real person.

  11. Jake, you need to know that we Christians try our best not to practice sin, especially if it influences others. This is how we are examples of God's extreme love to others. Being extremely famous gives you a huge responsibility, so you should always do your best to be that shining light. Tom was just lost in his faith, he wasn't trying to be a "cool Christian". Also, Christians don't try to be a "goody wanna be's", that is just the Holy Spirit working in our hearts.

  12. I love Tom Delonge. He's definetely a really great musician and he brings me inspiration to writing my music when i hear Angels & Airwaves. I know he rocks a lot of Free Mason logos in his clothing, on his guitar, and designs. I have studied Free Masonry because i wanted to see what its all about. By no means did i practice just simply research and by no means does it fall in line with Christianity but who am i to judge Tom for what he does. Hes a successful artist who knows right from wrong its in his hand to choose what he wants to really go with ya know

  13. I am not religious whatsoever, and proud of it, but hey religious freedom, idk why people are bashing others on here. Anyways I'm a huuge Blink and Angels fan, and I'm telling you all this right now, Tom is NOT christian. Totally false..maybe he was when he was a child before he could think for himself. He is a deist. He certainly believes in a God or something out there, but he isn't Christian. Which means he doesn't accept Jesus as his "Lord and Savior" or whatever. Want proof?

    1:53-2:50 listen to that.

  14. i think its toms decision. but i think he believes in god becuase he referes to god in his music. its a persons relationship with god that matters not what other people think or believe.

  15. Tom is not a christian, lmao. What christian believes in aliens and beyond things out of this world (Not Christians). Just because he believe's in god does not mean he is a christian. I believe in God, But I have no religion, I go by my own beliefs I do not follow any body else's. I would be what you call a 'Pagan' It means, non-religious, you can look it up in any dictionary. Thomas is waaay to smart to be a christian, nor follow any man made religion haha.
