The Lord’s Prayer

praying
"…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective" (James 5:16).
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours,
Now and for ever. Amen
The Lord’s Prayer also known as “Our Father” prayer is prayed by millions of Christians all over the world. This prayer is also sung during the Eucharistic celebration. I saw this article from a Christian Magazine. The prayer starts by praising and worship, the time where we need to honor the Lord and on top of all other names, we are the Lord’s children. To let us remember his faithfulness and to spend time with Him in prayer. The prayer then moves on that when we align ourselves listening with God’s will, we can know His desires. That God’s kingdom or rule will become the rule on earth. Only then, we turn to ask our Lord for our own needs and the needs of others, and that He would forgive us with all the wrong things we have done to others. We ask the Lord for the grace to stand solid in the face of temptation, resist all enemy schemes, guidance and protection through our journey. Finally we turn back to Him and worship His name, proclaiming who God really is as the Almighty ruler.
